How Do I determine my per person price?
We would discuss your ideal menu choices, guest numbers, plated or buffet style service, labor and service needs, and work with your budget and event requirements to best determine your catering costs. Each new client is given careful time and consideration to assess needs and appropriate packages. All customized catering quotes include staffing, gratuity and tax in addition to the per person price. Generally, our packages range from $45-65/pp (for parties of 75-200) to $65-95/pp for smaller more intimate gatherings. Per person price is determined by the number of menu items, and the specific costs of each entree and labor costs for preparation/transportation.
What would we need to rent for our event?
You can choose a few options for your plates, glassware, silverware and napkins through Color Catering. We offer white square plates for rent, at $1.50/ea for dinner/appetizer/dessert sizes. We also offer standard silverware at $.75/ea for dinner forks, knives, salad forks, dessert spoons. We also offer cloth napkins for $1/ea. All of our equipment rentals will include a flat rate cleaning fee, and tax determined by quantity. A more budget friendly compost friendly option would be the palm leaf plates, which are $.85/ea for events, and the birchware silverware pictured below for $1/set of knife and fork. Budget packages can include cloth napkins, or paper. Labor and cleaning charges will be less on packages using the compostables vs china. Some packages can be customized to include all plate rentals in your per person fee. Inquire for more specifics on your event needs as we are flexible. Please refer to our Services page for more rental equipment options. All buffet packages include chafing dishes, and service utensils. Plated service usually includes our signature white square china plate, cloth napkins and cutlery.
For tables, chairs, and linens and lighting/staging we outsource through Hawaii Events. They provide excellent quality of items and service included in packages for designing your event as needed per client.
What can we expect day of from your crew?
Generally, day of we would arrive about 3 hrs prior to event to unload, set up and get started. Service times usually range from 8-10 hrs from start to finish. We usually have 2-6 people working in our crew, wedding size depending or event depending. We would be setting your guest tables with plates, silverware, glassware and napkins as well as buffet tables with chafing dishes, serving utensils and any desired decor. We also would help set up any additional tables as needed, such as cake, guest sign in, or gift tables. You can hire us to help with decor, or provide the customized decor items for us to use. We also can help with floral arranging, or setting candles on tables for example. Just let us know how best we can help you, and/or if you have family or friends that would like to help in any way. We welcome family participation at our events, and also allow family foods to be served if desired along side our entrees for your own special touch.
Upon departure, we would be cleaning, and clearing all service items from the tables. We also would be serving your guests by clearing plates/napkins/silverware/glassware from the tables between courses or just after folks are finished. We make sure to give your guests a personal touch of aloha with every interaction, and staff will maintain a polite and courteous demeanor at all times with all guests. Foods left over would be packaged, and provided for clients if desired. Kitchen areas will be left cleaner than found, and all service items will be cleared upon departure.
Our attire consists of white collared shirts, Color Catering black aprons, black slacks with black shoes.

Do you provide cakes or cake cutting?
We are happy to cut the cake that you provide, for a small fee size depending. Usually our cake cutting fee is $30-45 size depending. We can provide wedding cakes for parties of 30 or less. Here's our recommended baker for cakes below.
What do I have to do to get more information and to reserve your services?
First step is to email us a general inquiry form below, with your information such as wedding date, party numbers, budget and menu requests. You don't have to know what you want, if you would like we can send you a menu suggestion based on any information you provide us. If you feel more comfortable talking in person, please call us and we will get back to you. We will respond by phone or email you within 1-2 days, if you don't get an email or phone call back within 24 hrs it means we are on event and will get to you asap! :) After we receive your inquiry by email or by phone, we will email you with a sample menu and proposal outlining per person price and possibilities for your event. You can respond with any menu substitutions you may prefer, and any budget concerns and we can fine tune it together to make sure it's a good fit for you.
